Accuracy before attention.
CIEP’s credibility depends on verifiable sources, clear language, political neutrality and a correction process people can use.
Source verification
We prioritise primary and official sources, check dates and scope, and label material that has not yet been independently verified.
Plain-language editing
We simplify structure and language without removing material caveats, uncertainty or institutional context.
Political neutrality
We do not support parties or candidates. Content is assessed against evidence, public process and civic value.
Evidence and opinion
Reported fact, interpretation and recommendation are separated clearly. Contributors’ views are labelled.
Misinformation mitigation
We check viral claims before repeating them, avoid amplifying harmful material unnecessarily and correct material errors.
Content updates
Publication and update dates are visible. Material changes should be described where context requires it.
Editorial independence
Partners may contribute expertise or support, but do not receive unlabelled control over editorial conclusions.
Sponsored or partner content
Any sponsored or partner-supported material will be labelled and held to the same accuracy standards.
Citizen information
We collect only necessary personal information and avoid exposing contributors, complainants or vulnerable people.
